K4240 and K4480 kWh Meters

Series 4000 (K4000) kWh meters are factory programmed, offering one model for both 3 or 4 wire feeder or branch circuits. This meter will also display voltage, amperage and real KW.

KW4240 and KW4480 kWh and KW Demand Meters

Series 4000 (KW4000) kWhr and KW Demand Meters will display kWhs, Maximum KW Demand as well as instantaneous kilowatts. The kW Demand reading will scroll with the kWh Display. The demand interval is factory set at 15 minutes unless otherwise instructed. Sliding or Rolling Window is the demand method used by the meter. Either one of these models field wire exactly alike.

Series 4000 Three Phase Kilowatt Hour Energy Meters (All Models)

There are six (6) digits across the top section of the display. These digits represent kilowatt-hours (energy) consumed. There are no display multipliers needed to read the energy consumed. There are three additional readings in the middle of the display. These readings are three digits of voltage, three digits of Amperage and three digits of instantaneous kilowatts. These power readings will display "HI" when the readings exceed 3 digits, i.e.: 1000 AMPs or kW.

The factory programs Relay 1 to 1 kWhr per pulse, as a standard, unless otherwise instructed. 

There is a RS485 Modbus terminal next to the relay. This port works with our Intelligent Converter that plugs into the RS232 comm. port in the PC. NMI offers several software programs. Call for more information.

The voltage and the current terminals are removable. If a field calibration check is necessary the terminals simply unplug and a portable 'Meter Standard' can plug into them. (have technician get a set of female plugs from factory). These terminals are a standard feature on all of our meters. Also, there are two rows of CT terminals used when paralleling two sets of CTs. Remember Current Sensors with voltage outputs cannot be paralleled. Voltage is not additive, where current is.

There are holes in each corner of the meter for mounting the meter against a plywood board, sheet rock wall or switch boards. We do not recommend that the meters be mounted against a concrete wall.
