Applications:
The Series 1000 Single Phase Kit includes, a watt hr. transducer, mechanical counter and two 100 amp. Current transformers. The transducer needs to be installed in a UL enclosure suited for the application. The current transformers are usually installed in the circuit breaker panel with the load wires going through the solid core current transformers. The counter can be installed with the transducer or in an enclosure remotely located.

Single Phase, 3 Wire |
Transducer
The Series 1000 Watt Watcher Transducer has terminals for three
(208/240 VAC) hot wires and a neutral. The voltage terminals are
labeled 90-140 VAC #1, #2 and #3. The neutral wire is labeled
NEUTRAL. The voltage wires should be protected with a 5-amp inline
fuse. Any or all local and NEC Codes shall take prescience over our
recommendations
Current Transformers
The current transformers are connected to terminals marked CT #1 RED
and BLACK, CT #2 RED and BLACK and CT #3 RED and BLACK. The CTs are
usually located with in the panel with the primary wires. The CT
that is connected to CT1 needs to be the same phase wire that is
connected to VAC #1. The same is repeated for CT #2 and CT #3. The
CT wires can be extended up to 100' using # 16 gage wire. Twist the
extended wires before pulling them into a conduit.
The standard CT that comes with the kit is rated at 100 amps.
primary load. Other sizes and types are available. When installing
the CTs place the white dot towards the line or source side of the
circuit. You can put multiple circuits through the hole of the CT as
long as the circuit wires are from the same phase. Arrange the CTs
in the panel so that two inches or more from each other separates
them.
Counter
The counter is usually installed in an enclosure. The enclosure can
be the same as the transducer or in a remote location. The wiring
between is low voltage. The miniature counter included in sealed for
moisture. The counters are operated by 12 VDC and are attached to
terminals labeled DISPL and COMN. There is no polarity referencing
these wires.
Transducer Operation
After the watt-hr transducer, current transformers and counter are
installed properly, than you can energize the transducer. The RED
LED will glow when voltage is applied. The GREEN LED will blink when
the counter clicks over 1 kWh. The counter can be set for 100-watt
hrs. if order as such.
